Begin by cleansing your face, ensuring it’s free from makeup and impurities. Apply a moisturizer or oil to your face as the lubrication helps the blade glide more smoothly across the skin and help reduce the risk of irritation.

Immediately following dermaplaning, you’ll want to cleanse your face gently. A gentle or mild cleanser will remove any debris or residue left behind on the skin’s surface. Avoid using harsh or abrasive cleansers, which can irritate the skin.

Next, apply a hydrating serum or face oil. The skin becomes highly receptive to skincare products and topicals after dermaplaning. The removal of the outer layer facilitates better absorption of nutrients, maximizing their benefits. This brief period, typically within the initial 1-5 minutes post-treatment, offers an ideal opportunity to deliver nutrients to the deeper layers of your skin cells. During this time frame, apply your preferred serum, face oil, or moisturizer. However, be sure to avoid skincare products that contain active ingredients such as retinol or any acids as they may cause skin irritation.

For sensitive skin, you should avoid retinoids and other active ingredients for 2 to 3 days after treatment. Also avoid any physical scrubs for 2 to 3 days after treatment.

We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before applying makeup. This waiting period allows your skin to recover from the exfoliation process and reduces the risk of irritation or sensitivity.

Wear SPF after the treatment to avoid sun damage.

No, dermaplaning does not alter the thickness or rate of hair growth. The hair will grow back at the same thickness and rate as before the treatment.

Sensitive Skin:

Acne-Prone Skin:
It is not recommended to dermaplane with active acne because it could spread the bacteria to other areas of your face.
