5 Morning Habits of Successful People

Steve Jobs. Jennifer Aniston. Arianna Huffington.

There’s one key thing these super successful people have in common:

They each have a morning routine of healthy habits that allows them to get a solid head-start on the day.

We’ve all been there.

Your usual AM program begins with hitting the snooze button so many times you lose count. Eventually you roll out of bed, make the mad dash to throw yourself together, before rushing out the door like a whirlwind.

It’s a super stressful procedure to kick off your day, so what if there was a better way?

Spoiler alert - there is...

Whilst there may not be a perfect, one-size-fits all morning routine for everybody, there are a few key morning habits that usually help make it a more enjoyable, healthier experience.

Habit of Success #1: Skip The Snooze

It’s a no-brainer really:

By skipping the snooze button and getting up with your alarm, you’re in less of a rush and you have way more time in the morning to do the things that make you feel great.

Find a time that’s realistic for you, and to go slow with the transition by setting your alarm 15 minutes before your usual wake-up time, gradually waking earlier each week.

That way it’s less of a shock to the system, and it’s easier to stick to the habit long term. Win-win.

Habit of Success #2: Hydrate

Hydration:

It’s one of the most important factors when it comes to feeling great and enjoying a healthy lifestyle, but one that so often gets forgotten about.

If you can start your day with a big dose of H20, your body (and skin) with thank you. You can expect a clearer mind throughout the AM, a faster metabolism, and a whole host of other big benefits.

Habit of Success #3: Get Stretchy

Loosening up with a little stretching or yoga in the morning is a great way to relieve any aches and pains and get your body ready for the day ahead.

And it doesn’t have to take up a huge chunk of time for you to see benefits:

Just by adding 5-10 minutes into your routine you can expect to feel much more centered and calm as you start to tackle your to do list.

Here are a few great follow-along routines to get you started:

Habit of Success #4: Healthy Breakfast

We get it:

When you’re in a rush and you’ve got fifty-million things stacked on your to-do list, it’s easy to skip breakfast or grab something on the go (croissant anyone?).

But by setting aside just a little time for some AM nourishment, you’re gonna feel much more energized and focused as you move through the day.

Habit of Success #5: Face Routine

A morning face-routine doesn’t have to be fancy, complicated or expensive!

Just setting aside a few minutes to follow some simple steps can make the world of difference with the health of your skin, and can do wonders for your confidence levels too!

Here’s a realistic routine to follow along with:

  1. Cleanse. Start your day with squeaky clean skin. A facial brush is a great way to dig out all that dirt and grime that’s accumulated in your pores overnight.
  2. Tone. Applying a toner can help balance the skin's pH levels and stop it from drying out later in the day.
  3. Moisturize. Hydration is key to fresh, youthful looking skin. Bonus points if you use an SPF to protect your skin from the sun.

And that’s really all there is to it!
