MONOLID EYES

For our beauties with a minimal or nonexistent crease line, a thin winged look is your new best friend.

We recommend grabbing a liquid liner for this misson. Start by placing the tip of the eyeliner in the middle of your lash line, take a deep breath and draw a thin line to the outer corner as your breath out (helps keep your hand and your mind focused + stable!) To complete the look, start at the inner corner of your eyes and draw inwards to meet the first line in the middle.

HOODED EYES

Those with hooded eyes (like our lovely co-founder Mandy) have a fold of skin that hangs over the socket line. A common challenge with drawing regular eyeliners for this eye type is that while the liner might look good and smooth after you apply it with your eyes looking down; but, once you look up, the fold of skin interferes with the liner, which smudges or covers up all your hard work.

Solution: draw the liner with your eyes open, looking straight into the mirror 👀.

UPTURNED EYES

The most common eye shape, upturned eyes already have a natural upward lift at the outer corners that all other eye shapes are working towards with eyeliner! What the goal is then with upturned eyes is to use eyeliner to balance out the proportions of the upper and lower lids. Grab your eyeliner (liquid is easiest for beginners!) and delicately apply a thin line to the upper and lower lash line first, followed wiith a thicker line at the outer corner of your lower lid. To add the wing, continue past the lash line and connect back by filling it in.

DOWNTURNED EYES

To give downturned eyes a more "alert" appearance, we recommend a thin, disjointed winged eyeliner that turns up and widens the eyelids. Grab your liquid liner and start with the tip at the inner corner of the eye, take a deep breath and draw a thin line all the way across to the outer corner as your exhale. Now, extend your wing up towards your eye crease, using the outer corner of your eyebrows as a guide.

ROUND EYES

If you have round eyes (like our amazing team member Rawan) and want your eyes to appear more cat-eyed for a sultry loook, draw a thin liner or make the liner thinner in the middle than the outer corner. In addition, you can add liner to the waterline to enhance. In contrast, thick liner exaggerates the roundness, making you look more youthful and “innocent."

ALMOND EYES

Almond eyes are the most versatile of them all (lucky for Fancii co-founder Aurelija!) Usually any style of eyeliner would suit this eye shape. However, an important thing for all eye shapes to consider is the space between the eyes. For instance, a person with wide set eyes (those who have generous space between both eyes) can extend the liner further into the the inner corner for some serious Cleopatra vibes. Those with close set eyes (space between both eyes narrower than one eye width) can use eyeliner to extend the outer corners with longer wings for the blessed angel you are.
